 Amrit Rang Youth Festival 2022

This blog is a response to one thinking activity. which is given as a task by Dr. Dilip Barad sir. This is a reflective blog of youth festival of 2022. as i was attend it for the first time i have observed many new things about the youth festival. in this festival there are 3 days of it 19 to 21 September. Festival  was hoisted by Takshashila college. Youth festival was organize almost after two years. this is 30th youth festival. There  are 34 events. The  number of participants are around 750.

Themes represented in various around tableaux  of kala yatra 18 sept.2022 Victoria park  water tank to  Amphi theater.

There are various themes represented in youth festival like Education system, women Empowerment, how bhavnagar was from 1723 to 2022, sports, politics. here are some glimpse of it. our  theme was importance of books as well as books were there. we are holding some hard copies of texts like wide sargasso sea, Final soluation, Macbeth, Wretched of the earth, The Home and The World. various digital tools like Blogger, Gmail, Twitter, Slideshare, Google Meet etc.

Opening Ceremony:

on the 19th September, there is opening ceremony it was held in Amphi theater. the name of stage is Mahendrabhai Meghani mukhya munch. in the very first day there was dance performance by the girls of K.L. Vidhyalay.

chief  guest of that day was Jitu Bhai Vaghani , Abhishek Jain ,Incharge Vc M. M. Trivedi, Mayor kirtiben danidhariya, Safeen Hasan G.M. Sutriya sir. EC  Members.

on the very first Dr. Dilip Gohil sir welcomed all the chief guest and he also told us the history of MKBU.

 Then safeen Hasan gave a speech that follow your passion what is the realtionship between child and parents. there is lot of options in this genration.

Abhishek Jain who was director of Wrong side Raju. he request for a film school in Bhavnagar. he also said that youth festival is help to be fearless.as a film maker he said that the art of film making is combined  more than 300 arts. he also make a difference between Reels v/s stage.

Lastly Jitu Bhai vaghani  also gave speech in his speech he talk about youth's contribution Right and duties collecting ideas , they make us aware about startup policy.

Kaushik  Bhatt sir thanked everyone for giving their precious time.

Quiz:

now, the events of youth festival has started as i (Hirva Pandya)and my two classmates Nirav Amreliya and Hinaba sarviya were  participated in quiz. this event was held in our department(English Department) there were three judges. in the quiz there are questions realted to Genral Knowledge. 

Major themes in dramatic events like One Act Play (एकांकी), Skit (लघु नाटक), Mime (मूक अभिनय), Mono-acting (एक पात्रीय अभिनय).

in every youth festival there is one act plays in this year we had two days of one act plays. the participants has given 30 minutes per act and they also given extra 5 minutes for stage  organization. here i wrote about some one act plays. 

Adhuru  chitra:

This one act play is about royal family the protagonist  Panna is mistress of king and king give his all empire to his nephew  vikram kumar prince good painter  heroin Panna her background was different she found in prostitute house by king  and one day both are boating Panna and Vikram  found them with ear other and prince make her painting but it was half without any discussion king thinking like they have affair with each other shivratri celebration king making domestic violence against Panna died after death she give latter to kumar he was read letter mad after this Tragedy. The play starts with the madness of prince flashback with kumar. 

Aai khani chopat 

Start with man(meraman) who died and one woman  protagonist Jaan Bai sitting near him people challenge  for revenge to his brother murdered and his was continuously  play chopat her father tell her to marry is brother in law (manhur) she recall her memories with his husband beautiful scene they create too woman one after merry waiting for husband and before his dead waiting his husband she was talking with her self by too character she marry with her brother in law (Diyar vatu) but after marriage she getting news that his husband murdered by his brother so she give poison milk to his brother in law he died. Flashback of murder and fight was very nice main protagonist woman dialogue was amazing.

Artificial Intelligence 

There are five characters in play. the play is about struggle between mind and heart. They all are Engineer students.  The story revolves around a girl Megha whose father was died and they had their last paper by tomorrow. All other roommates are arguing and quarreling that what is important for the girl whose father was died, giving last paper or to attend funeral of her father. Shivani the most practical girl among all is in favour of giving exam while all other girls like Ragini and Pooja are in the favour of attending funeral  of her (Megha) father. At last of the drama when shivani agrees that even if it was her father who died still she would choose to give exam. At that time pooja call to mother of shivani and drama take twist. She is saying that aunty shivangi will give exam and then only she will come for funeral of her father. Shivani got shocked and started crying. As she came to know that he is her father who died not of Megha. Audience also got shocked as they thought it was Megha's father who died. Also there was a beautiful song at last, words of the song is about a father giving advice to his daughter to be strong. The title is Artificial Intelligence, that we find in play how all the girls by using their artificial intelligence convince shivani to give exam instead of attend her father's funeral. 

SKIT:

Skit is short Five minutes Comedy drama. Mainly skit try to satire through comedy.in the skit there is various themes was presented.

•    Ravan Dahan in 21st century, Grishma case of surat has also presented. there is also theme of Thali Bajao Diya Jalao.

• secondly there was also theme of Technology has presented, conflict between two genrations.

• There is also theme of castism, Religion, Education Goverment jobs etc.

Can you apply dramatic literary theories propounded by Aristotle (Tragedy), Ben Jonson (Comedy of Humor), Dryden (Play), Martin Esslin (Absurd theatre), Irving Wardle (Comedy of Menace) on the dramatic events presented in Youth Festival?

here  i have found two theories the first one is about theory of  tragedy by aristotle which i  have observe in one act play Adhuru Chitra   

According to Aristotle (Tragedy)“Most important of all,” Aristotle said, “is the structure of the incidents. For tragedy is an imitation not of men but of an action and of life, and life consists in action, and its end is a mode of action, not a quality.” Aristotle considered the plot to be the soul of a tragedy, with character in second place. 

As per Aristotle there are four kinds of tragedy First, there is the complex tragedy, made up of peripeteia and anagnorisis; second, the tragedy of suffering; third, the tragedy of character; and fourth, the tragedy of spectacle. 

in the one act play of adhuru chitra there is tragedy of character of kumaar, because of tragic incident in past.

The  second theory of  Dryden  who has given three unities  The three unities are: unity of action: a tragedy should have one principal action. unity of time: the action in a tragedy should occur over a period of no more than 24 hours. unity of place: a tragedy should exist in a single physical location.

On last day, before or after valedictory, all art events like cartooning, painting, collage, poster making, clay-modelling, installation will be open for public display. You can study themes, satire, didacticism, aestheticism in all these artistic expressions.

There were many  art events like poster making ,cartooning,  clay modeling  on the last day it was open for all. we have visited this exhibition . which was held in external department. there are various types of rangoli. 

in poster making participants has selected current society, issues of current  society. here  i  have shared some glimpses of it. there was  also rangoli  drawn by  participants there are various type of rangoli instead of only colours they  are using flowers, grains and many other things here are some glimpse of it.

 

Festival  of Youthfulness

This festival is known as festival of  youthfulness. As i was attended first youth festival it was great opportunity. we have learned so many things. in the festival there were 44 colleges and English Department students were participated in 17 events, among them we secured rank in 9 events. And got 14 medals.
